A domestic help-cum-security guard made away with gold ornaments, a camera and laptops from a flat in an apartment on 22th main road at Sadashivanagar on Saturday night.

According to the police, Kripal Singh was residing in a flat with his son and daughter-in-law. On Saturday morning, they locked the house and went to attend a wedding. When they returned at night, they found the door ajar and when they went inside, they saw the cupboard broken. Some gold ornaments, two laptops and a camera were missing.

They informed the police who visited the spot. They found the security guards sleeping and questioned them after waking them up. The police learnt that Lokesh, a native of Nepal, was working as a domestic help-cum-security guard in the apartment. There are two security guards at the apartment, who claimed that on Saturday night, Lokesh brought them dinner. After eating the food, they felt dizzy and fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Lokesh managed to break  open the lock of the flat and made away with the valuables, said the police. The guards are being questioned further as their version seems unsatisfactory.

“We are yet to ascertain if they have helped Lokesh commit the offence. We have gathered information about the accused and he will be arrested. Also the other guards will be subjected to a medical test to check if their version is true,” added the police. A case has been registered and investigation is being carried out.
