Samuel, Neel set up Bishop Cotton's big win over JIRS

A fine all-round show by Nashon Samuel and a five-wicket haul by Neel Rai propelled Bishop Cotton Boys’ School to a comprehensive 215-run win over Jain International School in the KSCA inter-school (Division I) under-14 tournament for the BTR Shield here. 

Samuel scored 67, a joint-highest individual innings along with Harshvarshan, as Cottons posted a competitive 257 for nine in 50 overs.

Samuel proved more than handy with the ball too, claiming 4/28 while Rai bagged the remaining six wickets for just seven runs as JIRS crumbled to a paltry 42 all out in 18.4 overs.

Elsewhere, St Joseph’s Boys’ High School eked out a narrow two-wicket win over St Joseph’s Indian High School in a low-scoring affair.

Chinmay NA (4/22) and Hemanikith Reddy (3/4) shared the bowling spoils as SJIHS crashed to 108 all out in 30 overs. SJBHS, in reply, huffed and puffed their way to 109/8 in 26.4 overs, surviving Yash Vikas’ (5/52) threat.

Delhi Public School, South: 158 all out in 48.1 overs (Gautam Dileep 34, Anitej Madhukar 39; Sanjay K 3-27) bt Ebenezer International School: 153 all out in 44.3 overs (Sai Samarth MV 26, Rajvir W 39; Aditya Kaushik 2-26, Aditya Srinivas 3-25, Ajitesh G 2-19).

Army Public School (Parachute): 133 all out in 41.1 overs (Vishal V 32, Raghu G 33; Smayan 2-25, Tushar 2-6, Adhitya M 3-27) lt to Delhi Public School, East: 134/1 in 14.5 overs (Shray Singh C 47, Gautham 36 n.o., Yashwanth 37 n.o.).
