Inter-state bike lifters nabbed

Pleased with the achievement, Police Commissioner, Shankar Bidari, on Friday, announced an reward of Rs 20,000 to the police officers. The accused have been identified as Murugan (20), Sharif (24) and another person by the name Murugan (24), all natives of Hosur taluk, Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu.

According to the police, the accused had stolen the bikes from the City by breaking open the lock and sold them in Tamil Nadu. The bikes were sold for amounts ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000, after changing their number plates.

Police inspector K P Ravikumar, Chandrappa, Nagaraja and staff arrested the accused. The stolen bikes were later handed over to their owners.

In another development, the Mico Layout police arrested four vehiclelifters and recovered a car and six bikes worth about Rs 10 lakh, recently.

The accused are identified as Shivakumar (24), Alwinkumar (26), Naveen Kumar (20) and Sheshadri (21). They were caught when they were planning to steal a car at Vijaya Bank Layout under Mico Layout police station limits.

Jewellery recovered

Mico Layout police arrested three thieves and recovered jewellery and other valuables worth Rs two lakh. Police said, the accused - Nagaraju (19), David (19) and Raju (19), were involved in burglary at the residence of Krishna Shridhar, a resident of Bilekahalli in Mico Layout police station limits. They broke into the house on May 7. The accused made away with jewellery, mobile phones and cash worth Rs two lakh. Police arrested the accused in Devara Chikkanahalli and the valuables were returned to the owner on Friday.
