<p>Tension prevailed for a while at the Kempegowda International Airport on Friday evening as a suitcase was abandoned near the KIAL administrative office.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The suitcase was abandoned since afternoon and security guards alerted the staff around 6 pm. The local police and Industrial Security Force staff rushed there and alerted the bomb detection and disposal squad, said the police.<br /><br />The squad staff took position, placed barricades near the suitcase and tested it with the help of a scanner. They confirmed that there was nothing inside the suitcase around 8.30 pm, said DCP (Northeast) Dr Harsha.<br /><br />In a separate incident, the International Airport police detained an industrialist for carrying a weapon into the airport. The police detained the suspect, Satish, and released him later as he had valid documents for the possession of the weapon.<br /><br />He had come to the KIAL to drop his friend. During the verification, the guards spotted the weapon he was carrying and informed the police.<br /></p>
