Several members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a right-wing student organisation, on Wednesday staged a protest condemning the reported anti-national slogans which were raised at an event on Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi recently.

Addressing the protesters, ABVP member Ashwini demanded the arrest of all those who had raised anti-national slogans. In the name of feminism, humanity and politics, the university is supporting terrorism and naxalism. ABVP has been constantly raising these issues not only in JNU, but also in every educational institutions, she said.

Universities should work towards achieving educational and social reforms and not become a hub of anti-national activities. While the entire country was praying for the speedy recovery of soldier Hanmanthappa Koppad, JNU was hosting a programme on Afzal Guru, she said.
