The High Court on Friday granted bail to three suspects who were allegedly involved in the murder of Shahul Hamid during the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations in Madikeri in November, 2015.
Hearing bail petition of the suspects, H S Bhishma, PU Kaverappa and KR Ramesh, Justice AV Chandrashekhar granted bail on the ground that their names were not part of the complaint registered by the Mysuru police.
During a group clash between two communities at the Tipu Jayanthi rally, the three were arrested on suspicion of murdering Shahul Hamid.
A complaint was registered by the Mysuru police and the case was transferred to the Madikeri police. However, the names of the three suspects were not included in the complaint copy. The bench allowed the petition and granted them bail.
