Jobless graduate kills himself

A 22-year-old graduate, who was unable to find a job despite attending several interviews, committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a building in Chamund-eshwari Layout in Hulimavu on Wednesday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sagar, a BCom graduate. He was living  with his mother Sudharani, a private schoolteacher and father Nagesh, who is not employed due to ill health.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when Sagar was alone at home. His mother went to work at around 4 pm and his father went to the market to buy vegetables.

Sagar, who was home alone, went to the fifth floor of the building he was residing in and jumped to death. He was found lying in a pool of blood and neighbours, who found him, shifted him to a nearby hospital and he was declared brought dead, said the police.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Sagar had called up a few of his friends and had told them that he was upset about not finding a job. His parents also told the police that he had completed his bachelor’s degree last year and could not find a job despite attending several interviews.
