They have arrested Jayaramaiah for murdering Huchchamma, a 74-year-old woman pawn broker, on January 30. She had lent him Rs 20,000 and was demanding its return.

Jayaramaiah had also allegedly taken away gold jewellery worth Rs 25,000 and Rs 1,000 cash.

In the other incident, police nabbed Shankar and Raja, who allegedly killed Ramesh, their partner in crime. The duo were apprehended when they were moving in a sports utility vehicle with Tamil Nadu registration plate in Kannada. Upon interrogation, they confessed that they had a spat with Ramesh and hacked him to death. They disposed of his body parts in two open wells at Rayakote in Tamil Nadu. The TN police had registered a murder case and found an address of a locality in the City on Ramesh’s shirt collar. After the arrest, the murdered man’s skull was recovered on Tuesday at Gangondanahalli water tank near NICE Road.
