Tension prevailed at the KR Puram First Grade College for a while on Wednesday after the candidates, appearing for the exam, conducted by Karnataka Public Service Commission, for the post of assistant manager in the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation (KFCSC), staged a flash protest condemning the undue help extended to a candidate (roll number 1017056) by the invigilators and the others

.

On Wednesday, the candidates wrote Commerce, Management and Finance at the said centre from 2 pm to 4 pm.

A candidate, on the condition of anonymity, told Deccan Herald, “Once in five to 10 minutes, the invigilator used to go out and return with something written on his palm and show it to the candidate.”

Invigilators Subramanya and Srinivas helped the candidate in question, who is said to be a guest faculty in the college.

Undue favour to a particular candidate enraged the other candidates who staged a flash protest outside the office of the principal of the college.

They asked him to lodge an FIR against the errant candidate and the invigilators.
The protesting candidates relented after the principal struck off the OMR sheet and issued a show-cause notice to one of the invigilators Srinivas M over the dereliction of duty.

Following the suggestions by the KPSC officials, who rushed to the spot on learning about the protests, the candidates lodged a complaint against the candidate involved in malpractice and the invigilators for aiding and abetting him, at the KR Puram police station.
