Heat wave to prevail in North K'taka, says IMD

Heat wave condition will prevail for the next couple of days in the whole of North Karnataka region, according to the Indian Meteorological department. The IMD, in its update on weather, has said that heat wave condition was very likely over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Vidarbha and North Karnataka.

Heat wave conditions have been prevailing in 11 districts of north interior region from last three to four days as these districts are bordering the undivided Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

No rain relief

The IMD report predicts that the present heat condition would continue till April 19 and April 20.

There may be no relief from the heat as no rains are predicted in any part of Karnataka for the next couple of days.

Sources in the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre said that at the most there could be isolated rains in Kodagu and Hassan.

 It is expected that Mysuru district will record a maximum temperature of 38 and a minimum of 24 degree Celsius on Tuesday, according to Organic Farming Research Station,
Naganahalli, Mysuru.

According to the station, the district recorded a maximum temperature of 37.6 and a minimum of 22.4 degree Celsius on Monday. The average temperature is expected to be between 37 and 38 degree Celsius during the day and 23 degree to 24 degree Celsius during the night till April 19.
