Support for Motamma

With the demand for a dalit leader to become chief minister increasing in the Congress, an association to support former minister Motamma has come into existence.

At a function in Bengaluru, the association named as Akhila Karnataka Motamma Abhimanigala Sangha, was formally inaugurated on Thursday. Interestingly, no senior Congress leader except former chief minister S M Krishna turned up at the programme. Names of a host of Congress leaders were printed on the invite.

Krishna, recalling the services of Motamma as women and child development minister, said she had brought in significant changes through Stree Shakti groups. Former legislator B A Hasanabba was also present.
