Brussels attack: Jet crew member Nidhi returns

Jet Airways flight attendant, Nidhi Chaphekar, who was the face of Brussels attack, returned to Mumbai on Friday.

The 43-year-old jet crew member was immediately shifted to the Breach Candy Hospital for further treatment.

Nidhi Chaphekar, who is an in-flight attendant, had sustained burns over 15%  of her body and had fractured her ankle after getting injured in the 22 March blasts at Zaventem International Airport in Brussels, in which 32 victims and 3 suicide bombers were killed, and over 300 people were injured.

The married mother of two children is a resident of Andheri suburbs of Mumbai and her family and friends were eagerly awaiting her return.

The photo of the injured Nidhi was splashed in most of the newspapers and telecast on news channels across the globe.

She landed in Mumbai on Friday morning by Jet Airways fight 9W 123 at around 7.10 am. She was accompanied by her husband Rupesh. She was treated at Grande Hospital de Chaleroi, about 40 km from Brussels, and discharged on Thursday afternoon and taken to Paris where she boarded the flight back to Mumbai.
