The NDMC in a beautification drive of its parks is installing LED signages at its parks to attract more tourists. The LED signages will be prominently displayed at the gates of the gardens. To begin with, the New Delhi Municipal Council has installed such signages outside Lodhi Gardens.

“In the first phase, signages are being installed at the 12 gates of Lodhi Gardens. This is one of the most significant gardens in the council area and the entrances are being improved on through the LED signages. Public information boards about the garden for increased awareness on the history of the parks are also being put at the spot,” said a senior NDMC official.

There works of public art has also been installed at the garden to make it a more attractive spot for morning walkers and tourists.

“It is a good idea to install public art pieces at council gardens as people appreciate art at such places. At Lodhi Gardens, two more such art pieces will be installed,” said the official.

Nehru Park has also received public art works as a part of the beautification drive.
“The NDMC is now planning to extend the drive to its other parks. This will be taken up after the project is completed at the Lodhi Gardens. All parks will get LED signages, public information boards and pieces of public art in the consequent phases,” said the official.

The major parks under NDMC are Fragrance Park, Sanjay Jheel, Lodhi Gardens, Talkatora Garden and Nehru Garden.
