Members representing various progressive civil society organisations, trade unions, workers’  federations, residents welfare associations, artistes and street vendor associations protested against the new vision group called Bengaluru Blue-print Action Group (BBPAG) at the BBMP head office on Friday.

Terming it a club of the rich and famous, the protesters demanded the scrapping of BBPAG. They urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to comply with the 74th Amendment of the Constitution and set up the District/Metropolitan Planning Committees and make them functional within three months.

They also asked him to constitute Area Sabha and ward committees as directed by the High Court of Karnataka more than two years ago. The members also submitted a memorandum to Mayor B N Manjunath Reddy.
