A day after Deccan Herald carried a report on the security breach at the State Home for Women, the police have been deployed at the correction facility.

On Friday, this newspaper published a report on the plight of the officials at the Home, under the title ‘Men force their way into shelter housing bar girls’. Officials at the facility, which has been housing 120 girls rescued from two dance bars in the city since May 9, had found it difficult to ward off several men illegally gaining entry into the premises.

The men, said to be owners and associates of the bars, had even issued threats to the officials who had objected to their entering the facility. The officials then sought round-the-clock police protection, but no security was provided.

On Saturday, however, the Wilson Garden police deployed a sub-inspector and 4 police constables at the correction home. A Hoysala patrol vehicle too has been deployed.

Despite this, three men entered the Home forcefully. They were caught and beaten up by the police and sent out of the premises.
