Dhar, Anjum spur India to big win

Last Updated 24 February 2010, 17:11 IST

Assisted well by new-ball partner Jhulan Goswami, who took two for 17 off nine overs, Rumeli helped India bowlout England for a dismal 130 in 49.2 overs. Veteran Anjum Chopra then scored a patient 61 as the hosts chase own the target succesfully with 9.1 overs to spare.

India had lost the second match in Bangalore by three runs, with only Mithali Raj and Amita Sharma making significant contributions with the bat. But this time the target was much lower, owing to some incisive bowling.  Rumeli and Goswami triggered an early collapse which allowed the spinners to apply pressure on the middle order.

Poonam Raut and Anjum (61 n.o.) added 97 runs for the first wicket for Indians.
