Arjun propels Herons CC to win

A super unbeaten double century from Arjun Hoysala spurred Herons Cricket Club to a massive innings and 29 run-victory against Young Lions Club in the KSCA Group I, Division II league for the MAT Acharya Trophy here.

Lions batted first and were restricted to 163 all out in 50.5 overs as Venu Madhav top-scored with 66. Sachin NS (4/31) and Prathap (3/46) shared the majority of wickets.
Hoysala then came to the fore as he cracked an unbeaten 217 off just 191 balls to help Herons post 373 all out in 61 overs for a 210-run lead. His knock was studded with 35 fours and two sixes.

Requiring 211 runs to make their opponents bat again, Lions floundered again and were bowled out for 181 in an innings that lasted 84.4 overs. Nithin M was wrecker-in-chief as he bagged 6/91 while he was ably supported by Hoysala 3/6.

Herons collected five points by virtue of innings win, while Young Lions were docked a point.
