The Women and Child Development department has invited proposals for the national award for children who have made exemplary achievements in innovation, design, art, culture, sports, social service and music.
The award, instituted by the Union government carries a gold medal, purse of Rs 20,000, book vouchers for Rs 10,000, a certificate and a citation. The applicants should be residents of India and born on or after July 1, 2000. Children in the age group of 9-16 years will be considered for the awards for 2016.
The prescribed application forms are available at the office of the Deputy Director of Women and Child Development in respective districts. The applications, filled in English, should be submitted in duplicate to Deputy Director, Women and Child Development Department of respective districts on or before July 20, a press release said.
