The launch party of Kamaz Vectra trucks was held amidst the grandeur of the Bangalore Palace. The formal party, held in the lush green area surrounding the palace, was attended by many business people and diplomats, both from India and Russia. The launch also saw the presence of Rustam N Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Republic.
The party seemed like an opportunity for the businessmen and diplomats to relax after a long day of work and meetings. There was music, dance, cocktails and dinner for one and all. Most businessmen were on time, and were seen chatting casually with each other as they waited for the VIPs to arrive. A huge crowd thronged the bar counter soon as it was thrown open.

Soon after the formal introductions and addresses, sensuous long-legged dancers from Russia took the stage. Joked the presenter on stage, “I am told the Russian girls are as good as the trucks.” But those, who were expecting to see traditional Russian dances were in for disappointment, as these ladies grooved to the popular hit, Candyman by Christina Aguilera. Later, a group of four women in red dresses came on stage, and performed to Pussycat Dolls’ Hush Hush and a cover of Diana Ross’ I Will Survive. Soon, two pretty Russian ladies, who call themselves — Extreme, took the stage and played some popular Western melodies for the audience in a truly Bond style.
Post this, the keys of the truck were handed over to the first customer, a company from Bellary, by the Prime Minister Rustam. At this point, he addressed the audience.
“It is my honour and privilege to be present here,” he said. After this formal exchange, some more dances and musical performances took place. Some ballet dancers performed first, followed by the girls from Extreme playing a few more melodies for the guests, who enjoyed the performances as they savoured dinner.
