Have you ever experienced how it would feel to unwind with a nice cup of coffee and read a book just after shopping? bhane. WIP, a concept-based store in the posh Meher Chand Market of South Delhi’s Lodhi Colony area, is based on the idea where shoppers can spend a relaxing time post shopping, have a sip of coffee, play engaging games like Jenga and try their delicious range of pizzas.

They have a limited four-pizza menu and a limited range of coffees, making it easier for visitors to make a choice.

Located on the first floor of the store, WIP is spacious and quiet and is well lit with a comfortable seating arrangement.

With its hospitable ambience, many visit the cafe to not just shop but also to spend
some quality time.

So did Metrolife, on a drizzling Sunday morning, when the urge of trying a new spot to have coffee made us hop on to the cafe. At first, it was a bit confusing for us as to why an apparels and accessories store is clubbed with a cafe.

Initially an online-only store, bhane. ventured into a physical space about a year ago.

“The point was to communicate our story. What online offers, is omnipresent. But a physical space can provide people with a place where they can come and experience the brand. So we decided to have a cafe that corresponds to our clothes,” says Anand Ahuja, owner, bhane.WIP.

“Again, the point wasn’t to compete with other cafes, but to provide people with a place they can spend more time and engage,” he adds.

We started with a warm cup of cappuccino and cookies, something that went well with the cool weather. The cafe is entirely vegan.

‘Classic Margarita’, ‘Olive and Pesto’, ‘Pear Rocket Ricotta’ and ‘Marinara with Rosemary Baby Potatoes’ are the four pizzas currently on their menu.

With a thin and crispy base and the right combinations of spices and herbs, ‘Marinara with Rosemary Baby Potatoes’ turned out to be our favourite.

However, the highlight of the cafe is its delightful range of ice creams, the flavours of which change according to the collections of bhane.

every season.
‘Salty Caramel’ and ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ were our picks. We preferred to have the ice cream in the wooden bowl to over a cone, and it was definitely worth a try!
So, head to bhane.WIP, if it has been really long since you last spent quality time with yourself.
