Cops' kids cook up abduction drama to skip test

Last Updated 14 July 2016, 20:19 IST

Fearing they may fail a test in their tuition class, three children of policemen cooked up an abduction story which led to tension for a while in Seshadripuram on Wednesday.

The children, aged around 13 years, left home for the tuition centre in Seshadripuram on Wednesday morning. En route, they called their parents from a coin booth and said some unidentified men had “abducted” them.

They pleaded with their parents to rescue them. The parents went to the Seshadripuram police who swung into action and formed a special team to rescue the children.

All this while, however, students were happy eating home food sitting in a garden. Some policemen saw them and questioned them. The children confessed to cooking up the abduction story.

They said their parents were pressuring them to do well in studies but they did not quite follow what was taught in the tuition class. They feared they would fail the test and hence decided to stage the abduction drama.
