Police arrested Ahamed Reza, a loader and baggage handler of Air India, on the basis of the complaint filed by the girl’s mother Binoya Roy with the airport authorities. Binoya Roy alleged that Reza molested her daughter after they handed over their baggage on Tuesday morning and were waiting for their flight to Boston. The loader’s assistant, Binoy Sanyasi, was also detained for questioning.
However, while an Air India spokesman claimed that both had been suspended, the duo received bail after they were produced by the police before the Barrackpore subdivisional magistrate.
The girl and her mother, who live in Boston, were on a visit to Kolkata. The family later boarded a Lufthansa flight bound for Frankfurt, AI sources said.
