According to sources, IISc Board of Trustees and BBMP officials had a meeting in September 2008 where BBMP had requested the Board to approve a portion of the Institute Land for the construction of under-pass at CNR Rao Circle.
The Council at the meeting considered the request for approval of 939.18 square meter of IISc land to BBMP for the proposed construction. Since only one member from the Board approved it, the matter is still placed before the Board of Trustees of IISc for further approval.
Students and faculty members expressed their displeasure about the agreement made between the Board of Trustees and BBMP.
The IISc students and faculty group are planning to file a petition against the BBMP for not considering objections filed.
