<p>The City Municipality has not bothered to repair the compound which had developed cracks during the heavy rains in October and September last year. Recently it had collapsed completely. The children of the government and another nearby private school play here near the compound and try to jump over a drainage adjacent to the compound for fun. <br />Besides, the Government Degree College and Block Education Officer’s office are also located here. The staff of the college and BEO office have begun to use this road instead of main entrance. The school authorities don’t have enough funds to repair the compound and hence, the school has become shelter for miscreants to carry out anti-social activities. As the school’s windows and doors are also not in good condition the miscreants here have damaged them. <br /><br />The Government First Grade College, which doesn’t have its own campus, also functions from the school premises. The employees of the college fear that the valuable lab equipment and computers in the schools may be stolen due to lack of security. <br />Besides three rooms of the primary schools have been converted into the BEO and Education co-ordinator’s offices. The staff of both the offices are concerned over the safety of a lot of important records and textbooks in the offices. <br /><br />The Zilla Panchayat and the Municipality have not heeded to their request for repair of the compound, said the block education officer.
