Three-day organic food fair opens today

Organic food lovers can treat themselves to an array of organic products at the 'organic food fair' starting Saturday.

Organised by ‘The Green Path’  organisation, the three-day festival aims to promote good food movement and organic farming. Around 35 stalls will display and sell organic food products at the Green Path Organic State, opposite Mantri Mall Metro Station, Malleswaram. From millets to groceries, fruits, vegetables and snacks, the three-day festival will have it all.

Lawyer-turned-organic farmer and founder of The Green Path, H R Jayaram said: "The festival enables farmers to sell their produce directly to consumers.  Recently, we conducted mango and millets mela. This is the third edition of organic food fair."

Along with food products, organic clothes, cosmetics,  accessories and organic milk without chemical pasteurisation will also be on sale. There will be fun activities for children such as music programme, talent show.

 Farmers from Hubballi, Mysuru, Mandya, Ballari and other parts of Karnataka will be participating. “The fair would help create a network of farmers, consumers and other stake holders. The main objective of the fair is to create an awareness among public and farmers on organic food,” Jayaram added. The fair will be open from 10 am to 9 pm on all the three days.
