Four men wearing police uniforms abducted a 46-year-old property dealer along his car in northwest Delhi’s Rohini area and made him give them Rs 25 lakh.

The abductors asked for more money from the dealer Ram Pratap but he fled after suspecting trouble.

Police have registered a case in Outer Delhi’s Vijay Vihar police station and search for the four accused is underway.

The incident happened around 1.30 am on Sunday when Ram Pratap, a resident of Budh Vihar, was returning home from his office in Rohini sector 3.

After 15 minutes of driving, when Pratap reached at Vijay Vihar phase 2, two men donning police uniforms signaled him to stop the car.

As Pratap stopped the car near the two men, the duo forcefully entered the car followed by two more men who were wearing plain clothes, said Pratap in his First Information Report (FIR).

The two plain-clothed men then blindfolded Pratap and one of them started driving the vehicle. According to Pratap the men were aged between 25 to 45 years.

After driving for more than one and half hour, they took Pratap to a room and opened the cloth strip from his eyes.

“They then asked how much money can you help us give. I told them I have five lakh rupees at my house, on which they started beating me,” said Pratap in his FIR.

After the beating, Pratap told them that he has Rs 25 lakh at his home. The men then asked Pratap to call at his house and arrange the money if he wants to get freed.

In the morning, Pratap gave his house’s keys to one of his abductors, and called his friend Raju to take the house key from the man sent by the abductors, go to his house, ask for Rs 25 lakh from his son and hand that money to the man.

The abductors’ man met with Raju and handed him over the house key and after some time he got Rs 25 lakh from Raju. He then confirmed the abductors of getting the money on phone.

Pratap was hoping to get freed after helping them get Rs 25 lakh. However, they started asking for Rs 25 lakh more.

When Pratap expressed his inability to arrange for more money the abductors beat him and threatened to abduct his son also.

Pratap called up his friend and asked if he could arrange Rs 25 lakh, to which his friend asked him to wait till 2 pm. After that, Pratap, received a call from his another friend who asked him if he was in trouble.

As the phone was in speaker mode the abductors also heard the conversation, and further threatened Pratap that he they didn’t get Rs 25 lakh by evening they would get him and his son killed.

After 30 minutes the abductors took Pratap to Rohini sector 25 in his car, and left the car on foot. Pratap then called up police and registered his complaint at Vijay Vihar police station.
