Armed men attempt to rob jeweller

Three unidentified men made a bid to rob a jeweller in Mattikere on Wednesday. They threatened Kiran, the owner of Lakshmi Gold Bankers on Mattikere first main road, brandishing an air gun at him. However, they did not take away with any valuables.

According to the police, the suspects had met Kiran on Wednesday morning on the pretext of buying a silver lamp. The trio went away as Kiran told them that he did not have silver lamps. They came back around 5.30 pm pointed an airgun at Kiran and demanded a silver lamp. Kiran claimed that the suspects had opened fire at him. The police said that there was no evidence to establish his claims.
