The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved nine rail connectivity projects, which will cost over Rs 24,000 crore, covering nine states.
The projects involve track construction of about 1,937 km, said a government release.
The nine projects include the 176-km-long construction of the second railway line between New Bongaigaon and Kamakhya, the 132-km-long third line between Kharagpur (Nimpura) and Adityapur (Jharkhand) among others.
