When asked about the media report which quoted the alleged findings of the Survey of India, the law minister told reporters: “I do not wish to comment as this issue is not meant to be discussed in public.”

The report said Justice Dinakaran’s family had grabbed several acres of land in the Tirttanti taluk of Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district.

According to the media report, the Survey of India had submitted the report to the Union law minister, which was later handed over to the Chief Justice of India.

However, Justice Balakrishnan said: “I have no idea about it. I have nothing to comment about it.’’

The elevation of Justice Dinakaran to the Supreme Court was earlier kept on hold following allegations against him and his family members even as the Rajya Sabha took up impeachment proceedings against him.
