DG and IGP Om Prakash on Sunday visited Byatarayanapura and Rajarajeshwari Nagar police stations to review the progress on investigation in the cases registered against people involved in the September 12 riots.

Om Prakash said, “Cases registered against the arsonists are being examined. The total number of cases registered is also being checked. The police officers have been instructed to provide information on the progress of investigation. Stringent action will be taken against those involved in violence which led to torching of several vehicles.”

He said that security measures were also examined and the officers were directed to keep a tight vigil.

“We do not want anyone to take law into their hands,” added Om Prakash.
