For the upcoming IPL season, he has also taken Upendra’s place as the brand ambassador of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). So you can catch Puneeth lending his support to the RCB team, once the IPL matches start.

Speaking to Metrolife, Puneeth said that this new responsibility of his is yet to sink in. “I am extremely excited and happy that I have been given an opportunity to represent the Karnataka team. We still have to discuss in detail the action plan for the team,” says Puneeth.

That’s not all, the actor is also going to have a stand named after him, “I have heard that they are going to call it the Power Star stand. It’s going to be good fun watching the game with fans in a stand named after me,” he adds.

Not many know that Puneeth’s brother Shivarajkumar is a big fan of cricket and even used to be a cricketer himself. “He was excellent in the game. Unfortunately, he is not in town as of now but once he returns I will definitely bring him along for the remaining of the matches,” he says.

On being asked about his favourite players, he says, “It’s too difficult to choose as I like them all plus we have a lot of young talent.”

Does Power Star have any advice for the team? “I’m sure the team is going to rock and hopefully this year, the cup will be ours,” he says.
