Mulayam's plane misses cyclist on runway

Mulayam’s plane breezed past the cyclist, who appeared at the runway from nowhere, local officials said. The SP supremo was flying in a chartered plane and was on way to Etawah from Delhi to take part in a function.

The district administration, however, has denied that there was any threat to the SP leader’s life though they remained evasive on the presence of the cyclist on the runway when Mulayam’s plane landed.

When asked about the incident, Yadav sought to play it down saying that no harm could come to him as long peoples’ wishes were with him. Asked whether it was a security breach, the SP president said this aspect should be looked into by the Uttar Pradesh government. “The state government knows what security I am entitled to and what should be done,” he quipped.
