Bahuroopi, the annual theatre festival of Rangayana-Mysuru, is going international this year with the participation of troupes from Poland, Uzbekistan, Spain and Israel, besides staging of plays in various Indian languages, from January 13 to 18, 2017

Speaking to media here on Monday, incharge director of Rangayana K A Dayanand, also director for Kannada and Culture, said, “As part of Bahuroopi, a programme will be held near the Bhoomigeetha stage on the heritage and genesis of Indian theatre music.”
Theatre songs will be rendered by artistes belonging to professional, amateur and children’s theatre. At Kalamandira, folk arts from various parts of India will be showcased in the evenings. A seminar on ‘Theatre: Changing World’ will be held on January 14 and 15, 2017, he said. A film festival, exhibition of handicrafts and book exhibition will be part of Bahuroopi.
