As soon as one walks in through the front door of ‘The Chug , Garage Bar’, they will feel like they are actually walking into a garage.

With a deconstructed Royal Enfield motorbike, posters and paintings on the wall, the restaurant gives one a rustic feel. But don’t let the name fool you, it is a rather cosy place to hang out after a busy day at work.

Located on the busy streets of Nagawara Junction, ‘The Chug, Garage Bar’ offers plenty of biking stories, food, classic and experimental drinks.

For those who don’t have any bike stories to share, they can indulge in food conversations. The ‘Creamy mushroom soup’ is a great conversation starter. The chunks of mushroom added to the soup take the dish to another level — small bites of flavours in every spoon. The nachos have the right amount of topping and every chip you bite into is tasty. The right amount of cheese is a bonus. The ‘Tomato basil bruschetta’ is a bite-sized wonder with its moist yet crunchy bread.

If you are a meat lover, the ‘Curry leaf black pepper chicken’ will remind you of home. The aroma of ‘Bacon wrapped prawns’ and ‘Green chilli beef’ is quite inviting and they are great additions to the appetisers. The ‘masala’ blended or wrapped in the meat may leave you yearning for more.

When the ‘Cauliflower mac and cheese’ is served at the table, it’s possible that you might be reminded of the ‘quick ways to make cheesy pasta’ appearing on your social media pages.

Similar to the videos, the dish tastes as good as it looks. The ‘Pan-seared basa fish’ is simple, delicate and tasty. Adding a twist to the menu is the ‘Madras curry risotto’ which even a non-risotto lover might end up appreciating.

But if you want to have your all-time favourite dish, pizza, the ‘Teriyaki chicken pizza’ is the one to go for.

Even with the plethora of savoury dishes the restaurant offers, it’s the selection of desserts that makes it stand out. Ever watched a video online of a moist cake and wished you could have it?

Well, the ‘Checked cake’, ‘Chocolate truffle cake’ and ‘Walnut brownie’ served here could well be like your dream come true. They will melt in your mouth and  leave the taste of the chocolate syrup lingering in your mouth.

One of the other reasons one might leave the restaurant with a smile is the inhouse DJ. He keeps the evening young and joyous with the choice of music — from some of the good old 80s and 90s music to the latest hits of today.

‘The Chug, Garage Bar’ is located above A2B, Nagawara Junction. For details, call 25442244.
