Police nab four inter-state burglars

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, SP Nagaraj said that police found four men standing in front of the house belonging to Vanamala Nagaraju at Jayanagara extension, in a suspecious manner. When the police enquired them and checked their bags, they found iron rods, knives, screw driver and jewellery. When the group was brought to the police station for inquiry, they revealed that they were in the city to execute a massive burglary plan.

The arrested are Venkatesh alias Venkata, Nasir from Chikmagalur, Raja alias Jani from Bangalore and Basavaraj from Bellary. The jewellery which was in their possession was said to be stolen by the team in Mysore and Pandavapura. Police have seized Rs 40,000 cash and ornaments worth Rs 2,25,000.

The SP said that police have been on a look out for Venkatesh and Nasir for Dr Narayan’s house burglary case in 2004 house.  He said that they make use of local youth to execute their plan and however alertness of police has prevented the team from executing their plan in Chikmagalur. CPI Siddaiah, PSI Jayaram, constables Jagadish, Ravi, Mohan, Vinod, Krishnaraju who took part in the operation will be rewarded, said SP.
