He was addressing the media after having an interaction at the press club in town on Thursday. Wearing a black band, the protesters will take out rally from Gandhi Bhavan to Deputy Commissioner’s office demonstrating empty pots.

They will also plant a sapling on a sand heap at Mekke circle to highlight scarcity of water in the town, he said. Including employees of Karnataka State Transport Corporation, Tigala community members, Traders Association, R L Jalappa Medical institutions as many as 16 organisations will join the procession. The traders association has assured to close down business establishments in support of the protest, he added.

“Both Central and State governments have neglected the district. The district administration should ensure proper drinking water supply to the district,” he demanded. JD(S) leader R Dayanand, A Shivappa, Venkataswamy, Aarif Khan and others were present.
