Poll for post of CMC chief

M Bhaktavatsalam and Sangeetha Kumari, who held the respective posts were dethroned by a no confidence motion in November. Both had questioned the no confidence motion in the High Court.

Now, the election date has been fixed in pursuance of the direction of the High Court. While the post of the president is reserved for the General Category that of the vice-present is reserved for women.

An administrator has been appointed for the local body for the last four months. Political activities have gained momentum with the announcement of the election date.
