Legendary shuttler Prakash Padukone and Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra have been drafted into the nine-member panel constituted by the government to study the existing sports governance and make recommendations on implementing a comprehensive National Sports Development Code across disciplines.
The committee will have Sports Secretary Injeti Srinivas as chairman. The other members include World championship medallist long jumper Anju Bobby George, FIH president Narinder Batra, gymnast Dipa Karmakar's coach Bishweshwar Nandi, lawyer Nandan Kamath and sports journalist Vijay Lokapally. The joint secretary sports (MYAS) is the ninth member.
