Samantha Cameron, the supermodel?

Samantha Cameron, the supermodel?

Today the 38-year-old may be careful in cultivating an ordinary look by shunning high fashion for off-the-peg clothes from the high street, but the pictures show that Samantha once cut an altogether more vampish dash.

Taken a year or two after the couple's wedding in 1996 and before David Cameron became an MP, the photographs reveal a more coquettish side to the baronet's daughter, better known for her "high street chic" style, the 'Daily Mail' reported.
The pictures, published by the British newspaper, show Samantha wearing the creations of a female designer friend and proved a natural in front of the camera.

Fashion writer Alison Jane Reid, who organised the shoot, said: "The camera loved her. She had all the features you look for in a model: clear, radiant skin, a symmetrical face, wonderful long hair, a model's body and those legs.
"She was very poised, very confident. As you can see, she looks sensational, stunning. Lucky David Cameron."

The pictures were uncovered when Reid, who has styled Carla Bruni – the model-turned-wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy – discovered the slides in a box of photos in the attic of her Isle of Wight home.

In one photo, Samantha reclines in a black velvet devore evening gown holding a lambskin address book entitled 'Blondes, Brunettes and Redheads'.
In a more playful image, taken in a basement flat in Fulham, West London, she can be seen sprawled on the floor modelling a beige sheepskin shearling mini dress, playing with a black kitten.

In another photo her small dolphin tattoo is visible on her ankle as she poses on a chair in a scarlet satin mini shift dress with matching peep-toe heels.
Reid said: "These were taken in 1997 or 1998, when Samantha Cameron was totally unknown. There isn't a great deal I remember about the day -- it was just a favour for a friend of a friend -- but I do remember the model very well."
