Stories on a plate

Fusion menu

After much anticipation and many sessions of brainstorming, Rishi Bailoor along with his sister Ayeshwarya Kalyanshetty came up with the idea of a fusion restaurant, ‘Tasty Stories’.

Located on the busy streets of Indiranagar, this place is only a year old and is garnering a lot of attention from foodies in the city.

The foremost attraction is the interesting interiors — the bright combination of pink, black and red is striking and instantly catches one’s attention.

The place also houses a few small planters that give a feel of freshness and each wall has a different theme to it.

From collages made of different waste products like cloth and paper to posters from ‘Game of Thrones’, each wall has a story of its own.

Similarly, the menu is elaborate and has a little bit of everything. One can find a mix of dishes from all over the country, thus getting a chance to experience a variety.

The most recommended dishes in the snacks section are ‘chicken’ and ‘vegetable’ cutlets, ‘Misal pav’, ‘Veg nachos’ and ‘Moong dal pakodas with chutney’.

‘Chole, puri and raita’ and ‘Kofta curry’ and ‘Peas pulav’ are filling and great choices if you want to have a full meal.

If you would like to explore the menu further, try the ‘Chicken biryani combo’.
The quantity is perfectly sufficient for two people.

The combo comes with four pieces of ‘kebabs’, a large portion of ‘chicken biryani’, ‘raita’, dessert and choice of drink (lemonade or ‘masala chaas’). The consistency of the ‘raita’ is nice and thick, unlike the ones that are served in most other places. Ask for ‘masala chaas’ in the drinks option — the finely chopped coriander and the spices with a hint of ginger give it a perfect balance of taste and smell.

However, if you want to try out their Continental spread, ask for the ‘Grilled chicken combo’. This combo comes with grilled chicken dipped in creamy mushroom sauce with herbed rice.

The aroma of the herbs and the taste of the creamy and succulent chicken will linger on your taste buds and you can’t help but go for the next bite.

The dishes come in good quantities, taste fresh and the prices are not that heavy on the pocket.

The restaurant also has a collection of blocks, card and board games and a section for books that people can engage in. So, if you are looking for a cosy place to dine at that is also affordable, fun and creative, this place might be just what you are looking for.

‘Tasty Stories’ is located at 118/1, First Floor, 80 Feet Road, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar. For details, call 9742125942.
