TN ministers meet Sasikala at jail

Three Tamil Nadu ministers on Tuesday visited AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala Natarajan who is lodged at the Bengaluru Central Prisons at Parappana Agrahara.

 Minister for Forests Dindigul C Srinivasan, Minister for School Education Sengottaiyan K A, Minister for Cooperation Sellur K Raju and an AIADMK office-bearer reached the prison premises around 4.30 pm. They spent about 40 minutes with Sasikala and discussed various issues.

It is said that she obtained latest updates on the political situation in Tamil Nadu, including the launch of 'MGR Amma Deepa Peravai', a new political outfit by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar.

The local police had tightened the security in and around the prison in view of their visit by Tamil Nadu ministers. The ministers met Sasikala after completing the official formalities. They had requested the prison authorities to permit them to meet Sasikala. She is permitted to meet guests twice a week for about 20 minutes.

Prison authorities told DH that there is no request from Sasikala regarding shifting her to a prison in Tamil Nadu.
