Pul's wife sends fresh letter to apex court

Former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul’s wife Dangwimsai Pul has sent a fresh letter to the Supreme Court.

She has sought clarification on how her plea for a probe into charges of corruption against the judges and others was converted into a petition. She also questioned as to why her letter sent on February 17 was put before a particular bench for consideration on judicial side.

In her letter to the secretary general of the apex court, she also sought details of the order passed by the chief justice in this regard. Her move comes a day after she petitioned the vice president for action into the supposed suicide note left by her husband on August 9.

Dangwimsai, who earlier wrote to the CJI for a probe, had preferred to withdraw her letter on February 24 after it was converted into a petition for consideration on judicial side.

She also sought to know if the CJI’s attention was drawn to the Veeraswami case judgement, which required sanction from the CJI or other judges for investigating charges of corruption against judges.

Dangwimsai demanded “credible investigation” into charges of corruption made against judges and others in Pul’s 60-page suicide note. The office of Vice President Hamid Ansari has clarified that Dangwimsai did not meet him on Tuesday. A senior officer has, instead, received a memorandum from her, it stated.
