No need to write NEET for Ayush seats: state govt

In what could come as a sigh of relief for hundreds of students, the state government has said that students need not write NEET to avail of Ayush seats this year.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare K R Ramesh Kumar said that the decision has been taken bearing the interest of students in mind. A senior official from the Health Department said that there was no notification or order mandating students to write NEET for Ayush seats.

“The Centre had written to us stating we 'may consider' conducting NEET for Ayush. We have decided to go ahead with Common Entrance Test (CET) this academic year. Next year, however, we will conduct NEET even for Ayush as preparations can be done before hand," said the official.
