The ‘Fiat 1100 Club Bangalore’ organised their eighth anniversary meet at Lalbagh on Sunday. Founded in March 2009, this club today has about 150 to 200 proud members.
“The club usually meets once in every three to four months. For the anniversary meet this year, we had about 35 cars of five different models turning up with their proud owners,” says Arun Srinivasan, a software engineer and the organiser of the meet.

The meet-up began with a cake-cutting ceremony after which the Fiat owners took out a rally of their classic possessions. “We had people coming in for the meet-up from places like Mysuru, Kolkata and Coimbatore. In all our meet-ups we have thorough discussions on the maintenance of the vehicle and about different issues the owners face to drive their vehicles along with the new generation cars,” adds Arun.

Srinivas S, an engineer who owns the 1955 (the oldest model) rode down from Mysuru for the rally. He says that it has only been two weeks since he brought the ‘Fiat Millecento 1100’.  “My journey from Mysuru to Bengaluru has been a reliable drive. I was looking forward for this gathering. People who have a common passion coming together is always a great experience,” says Srinivas.
