Man held for setting 3 trucks afire

The Sarjapur police arrested a drunk man who set fire to three lorries near the APMC yard on Wednesday night.

The arrested, Imtiaz, a painter at an automobile garage in Sarjapur, set fire to the lorries owned by Rajashekar Reddy, who supplied food materials to anganwadis in Bengaluru Rural district.

On Wednesday night, Imtiaz asked his friend for money. The friend turned him away. Imtiaz then went to another friend’s house, who was working for Reddy, but couldn’t find him too.
Meanwhile, Imtiaz found the lorries parked nearby and set them afire.

The lorries, loaded with food material, immediately caught fire. The drivers, who had gone for dinner, alerted the police and the fire service, who doused the fire.
