Set to serve festive fare

The Gateway Hotel – Residency Road will offer a quintessential South Indian experience for its guests on March 28.

On the occasion of ‘Ugadi’, the guests can enjoy a rich and traditional cuisine and ring in the New Year in style.

Celebrate the essence of life with the sweetness of jaggery and the bitterness of ‘neem’ leaves which symbolise how life needs to be taken in equal measures. Indulge in the festive banana leaf meal created by Executive Chef Naren Thimmaiah.

The main course comes with traditional delicacies including ‘Kaalu Usli’ (sprouts tempered with Mangalurean homemade masala) and ‘Southekai Pachadi’ (Mangalore cucumber cooked with curd and grounded coconut). Also savour other Mangalurean delicacies like ‘Ananas Saasive’ (sweet and sour pineapple curry with a tempering of mustard) and ‘Dal Thovve’ (traditional lentil tempered with mustard, chilly, ginger and curry leaves).
      The desserts include ‘Kadlebele Payasa’ (split Bengal gram cooked with jaggery and creamy coconut milk), ‘Kadubu’ (steamed flat rice cake filled with a mixture of grated coconut sweetened with jaggery and flavoured with cardamom) and many more.
 The lunch will be served from 12.30 pm to 3 pm on March 28.
