The Banaswadi police recently registered a case against its own staff and some locals after a lawyer accused them of trying to evict her by forging a land document and threatening her. A senior police officer said the victim is a resident of Nagannapalya in Banaswadi. “Recently, she approached the local court and filed a complaint stating that Banaswadi police inspector Munikrishna, eight of his staffers and 10 local people had forged her land documents and threatened her asking her to vacate the place. It is a court -referred case and the woman claims that the inspector and others forged the land documents stating that the land was purchased by another person,” added the officer.

“The woman in her complaint mentioned that in September 2016, a few people barged into her land and threatened her, demanding that she vacate the place. They asked her to withdraw her previous complaints failing which they would lodge a complaint against her and her family,” added the officer.

“It is learnt that there was a case against the woman in connection with the same land dispute. The court had summoned her thrice but she failed to turn up. Then, an arrest warrant was issued against the woman, who in turn filed a complaint against the inspector and others,” said the officer.

Another senior police officer said, “It is found that she had filed a complaint against the tahsildar, BBMP officials and several government officials for reasons unknown. The local police officials decided to lodge a complaint against the woman for filing a false complaint against several officials. The matter is being looked into and investigation will be taken up.”
