Armed gang goes on rampage in K P Agarahara, injures man

A rowdy and his associates went on the rampage in KP Agrahara, off Magadi Road, on Friday morning. They intimidated public and assaulted a man who objected to their acts.

The rowdy has been identified as Jayanth and his associates as Sathish, Mani and Avinash. All of them have been arrested and are being interrogated by the West division police.

Tension prevailed for a while in KP Agrahara when the armed gang on bikes threatened and tried to attack residents while looking for a rival gangster who was recently released from jail.  Jayanth and his accomplices were the lookout for Sanjay, who was involved in the murder of Mahesh (35), a rowdy and realtor in Vijayanagar in June 2016. Mahesh was hacked to death by a gang at a coffee shop in Vijaynagar. The police had arrested Sanjay in connection with the murder. He was released on bail 20 days ago.

Armed with lethal weapons, Mahesh’s associates led by Jayanth came in search of Sanjay on bikes and randomly intimidated people on the road. When they could not find Sanjay, Sathish assaulted Varun, a bystander. Varun sustained minor injuries and has been admitted to a hospital, the police said. The K P Agarahara police have registered a case.
