Three people, including the driver and the conductor of a private bus, were arrested on Tuesday for attempting to molest a minor girl in Salem district of Tamil Nadu.
Police said that Murugan, Perumal and Manivanan were held for trying to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl after she boarded the bus to reach her native place Omallur.
At the final bus stop, after the other passengers got down, the trio blocked the girl’s exit and took the vehicle to a remote spot.
They tried to sexually assault her, but she managed to escape and sought help from nearby villagers.
Locals caught the three and handed them over to the police.
