<div align="justify">Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday virtually received a pat on his back from Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal for providing “good administration”. <br /><br />Addressing the extended KPCC general body meeting, Rahul said Siddaramaiah had been doing a good job as the chief minister. “The chief minister has concern for the poor and the downtrodden. It is a true Congress government in Karnataka,” he remarked.<br /><br />Earlier, Venugopal said the government led by Siddaramaiah had fulfilled 95% of the promises made by the party before the 2013 Assembly elections. The Union government led by Narendra Modi has fulfilled only 25% of the total promises the BJP had made during 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he said quoting an analysis done by the Congress. <br /><br />The Congress government has been doing a good job. “The party will win the next Assembly elections with a huge majority in Karnataka. And the 2018 Karnataka Assembly election results will bring a remarkable difference to the national politics,” Venugopal stated. <br /><br />Many senior leaders who spoke at the meeting mentioned about “differences” within the party but said that they will work for the party overlooking all the differences. <br /><br />“I have a lot to tell, but this is not the right forum. I will take a vow to work with all the leaders and bring the party back to the power...I think we should stop glorifying persons and promote only the party,” said Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, who had tried to become KPCC president. <br /><br />In an apparent effort to appease the disgruntled Congress leaders, Rahul later said it is difficult to make everybody happy. “The Congress is a family. Every person feels she/he is heard in this family. The party listens to all. Everybody can’t be made happy. But we can embrace all,” he stated. <br /></div>
